Announcing our 2019 Summer Reading Program, “A Universe of Stories!”
Readers of all ages will explore the Universe this summer as the Bartlesville Public Library presents “A Universe of Stories.” Activities for children include space-themed crafts, storytelling, STEM projects, science experiments, magic, juggling, acrobatics, and more. Just some of the events for teens are a Sci-Fi Trivia night, Sci-Fi board game demos (both co-sponsored and hosted by Paper Games), a painting class, a very cool presentation by a member of the Bartlesville Astronomical Society, a “special” movie screening, and some great STEAM activities. We’ll end with a Grand Finale Pool Party at Frontier Pool for both age groups and their families! (See separate “Event” postings for program
details.)
Participants may sign up any time beginning on May 4th. Beginning on June 3rd, they will let us know each week what they’ve been reading or had read to them, for a small prize. Each Monday morning during June & July, we will draw a weekly prize winner from each age category, including everyone who reported to us that previous week. You need not be here for the drawing. What should you read? Absolutely anything you want to read! What could you win? Free books, movie passes, and a variety of other fun things!
BPL’s Summer Reading Program is locally funded by the Bartlesville Friends of the Library. Much thanks to this wonderful organization!
