3D Printing: We’ve added a Dremel 3D45 3D filament printer to our collection of amazing services offered to our patrons. Jobs for patrons are free and are handled by library staff. Projects are restricted to the filament the library uses, a height of no more than 6”, and an estimated print time of no more than 10 hours. Patrons can make a request for a print job once per week and the job will be added to the queue of requests. Bartlesville Newspaper Index: The Local and Family History Staff has been indexing the Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise newspaper since 2000. Newspapers are archived on microfilm and are available in the LFH Room.

Book Clubs: The library has two book clubs, the Johnstone Avenue Irregulars which meets on the first Tuesday of each month (September-May) at 7:00 in the library’s downstairs meeting room to discuss a book. The Gentle Reads book club meets on the third Thursday of each month at 2pm. All are welcome!

Books @ Home: The Library delivers books and materials to patrons who are home-bound. To register for this service, contact Coordinator Sheryl Clark at 918-338-4162.

Book Reviews & Speakers:   Library staff members are happy to speak to your  group.  We do book reviews, readings, classes on special topics, and presentations about what the library has to offer.  We have presentations available that are appropriate for both children and adults.  To request a speaker, please contact Cindy at (918) 338-4187.

 Bookstore: The Friends of the Library operate a used book store next to the Circulation Desk. The Bookstore is open the same hours as the Library. Used hardcover and paperback books can be purchased for a nominal fee. The FOL also has an online bookstore at ABE Books where rare and valuable books may be purchased.

Carryout Service–Our Reference Staff is happy to pull materials for you on a particular subject so you can pick them up the next day. Call (918) 338-4169 for details.

Circulating Collection:   As of 2020, BPL had about 100,000 items in the circulating collection of Books, DVDs and Blu-Rays, Audio Books, Video Games, the “Library of Things“, and Outdoor Games!

Computers for public use:   BPL has 16 computers connected to the internet and are available for public use.  The computers also include Microsoft Word, desktop publishing, children’s games, and educational software.  Some are reserved for the use of the Career Center, researchers, genealogists, and youth.  For more information, see our Public PC Policy.

EBooks & EAudiobooks: We are part of a consortium with other Oklahoma Libraries and are proud to offer a collection of more than 11,000 ebooks, eaudiobooks, magazines, music, and videos for checkout via the Oklahoma Virtual Library.

Events: There’s always something going on at the Library. Whether the programs are sponsored by the Library or sponsored by others, our meeting rooms are a hub of community activity.

Interlibrary Loan:   If you can’t find what you want at the Bartlesville Public Library, our Reference Staff can try to borrow the item from another library. A $3.00 return postage fee per item requested must be paid before the request is processed. Check at the Reference Desk for details.

Literacy, ESL, and Citizenship Tutoring: We provide a wide range of literacy services for adults. For more information, or to become a volunteer tutor, contact the Literacy Services Office at (918) 338-4179.

Local History & Genealogy:  We have an excellent collection of resources for this kind of research.  Local files include Bartlesville-Area newspapers on microfilm back to the 1800’s and an extensive obituary file. Meeting Rooms:   We have three meeting rooms available for public use.  More than 800 meetings are held at the library each year.  Non-profit groups/organizations may use any of the rooms free of charge. Individuals and businesses may use the rooms for a fee. Each group must have an application on file in the Administrative Offices.  All meetings must begin and end within regular library hours. Newsletter: The Library publishes a newsletter, The Bartlesville Bookmark, every other month. Check out the current issue for information about upcoming events, services, and materials.

Obituary Lookups: At no charge to out-of-town patrons, LFH Library staff will search for up to 3 obituaries or conduct one hour of lookup time per patron. Obituary lookups are limited to only those who are believed to have lived in/and or died in Washington County, Oklahoma. There is a charge of $2.00 per page for copies of successfully located obituaries. These will be sent to requestors in self-addressed, stamped envelopes sent to LFH at 600 S. Johnstone, Bartlesville, OK 74003 or as attachment e-mails to the patron’s e-mail address. Copies will not be mailed or sent as attachment e-mail files until payment is received. LFH accepts cash, checks or money orders made to Bartlesville Public Library. Due to limited staff time, this is a one time service. If additional research is required or requested, LFH Staff will be happy to provide names and contact information for area researchers who have indicated a willingness to provide further assistance. Terms of their services are negotiated directly with the researcher.

Online Services: We have a plethora of services which can be accessed from your home computer 24/7. Services include full-text journals, magazines, and newspapers, genealogy research, historical research, auto repair, investment information, marketing resources, health resources, and more!

Reference Assistance:   Our Reference Staff answers more than 650 questions per week covering a wide range of topics. Ask your questions in person, via telephone (918) 338-4169, or via email at reference@cityofbartlesville.org.

Storytime:   Our Youth Services Department provides storytime to more than 200 kids per week.  In addition to regularly-scheduled storytime (Wednesday and Thursday mornings, 10 a.m. for babies & toddlers, 11 a.m. for preschoolers.  Our staff also visits area preschools and day cares.

Summer Reading Program:   BPL provides a Summer Reading Program for all ages during the months of June and July.  Please contact the Youth Services Department at (918) 338-4170.

Tax Forms:  Tax forms are available in our Reference Department.  If we don’t have the form you need, we will find it for you!

Teen Services: The Fortress” is a fantastic venue designed for young individuals ranging from 6th to 12th grade. This one-of-a-kind space provides a diverse array of entertainment options, including various video game platforms, board games, a pinball machine, and more. Additionally, it offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere where teens can socialize, unwind, and have a great time. Whether you’re into gaming, board games, or simply looking for a cool place to chill with friends, “The Fortress” has something for everyone in this age group. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy some fun and relaxation in a safe and engaging environment.
