Barbara Shoff, WikiTree Ambassador and blogger for “The Blundering DNA Genealogist,” will present a series of free classes on how to use the website WikiTree in genealogy.
WikiTree is a free online genealogy project comprised of a single ancestor entry collaborative family tree, created by using both traditional genealogical sources and DNA data. With over 16 million profiles (and 3.5 million DNA test connections) edited by half a million genealogists worldwide, WikiTree’s user-friendly site will benefit those wishing to pursue their family history, even if they are new to both computers and genealogy.
On Feb. 6, Shoff will present “Hello WikiTree – Hello World, Part One.” This class will be repeated twice. The first class will be from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the second class will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On Feb. 8, Shoff will present “Hello WikiTree – Hello World, Part Two.” This class will also be repeated twice. The first class will be from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the second class will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
All of these classes will take place in the Library’s meeting room C and are free and open to the public.
