Annual LEGO Creations Contest

Every April, the Bartlesville Public Library holds its very popular LEGO Creation Contest, which is for all ages!      Participants are divided into three age groups: Pre-K through 4th grade, 5th grade through 8th grade, and 9th grade and up, including adults.  First, second and third place will be awarded in each category with one overall grand prize being awarded.  Winners will receive cool LEGO products, which are purchased with funds from the Bartlesville Friends of the Library. Registration begins on April 1st.  To register, pick up a form at the library’s Youth Services Desk . Contestants will build their LEGO creations at home using their own LEGOs, abiding by the rules and criteria noted on the registration form.  They will then drop off their entries at the upstairs meeting room of the library on Saturday, April 29th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.  The room will be closed at 11:00am to allow private judging to take place.  Public viewing and an awards ceremony will begin that same day at 1:00pm. Winning entries will be shown in the library’s lobby display case from April 29th through May 5th. “I encourage everyone to participate,” says Youth Services Librarian Laura Pryce, “whether you’re a beginner or a LEGO expert, whether you’re in kindergarten or in retirement. Throughout the many years of hosting this event, we have seen all levels of skill and participants of all ages!”  Call 918-338-4170 for more information.
