Healthy Plants Need Healthy Dirt; Not Just Soil

OSU-Washington County Extension/Washington County Master Gardeners will be presenting a weekly series of programs covering a wide array of gardening topics. These hour-long programs will be Tuesdays starting a 6 pm, and will be held in the Library’s Meeting Room A. These programs are free and will be open to the public to attend.

On August 10, Neil Loftis will present “Healthy Plants Need Healthy Soil; Not just Dirt.” Loftis has been a Master Gardener since 2014 following his retirement from ConocoPhillips, where he worked for 36 years. His presentation will cover the components of soil, the nutrients needed for soil health, what soil pH is and why it is important, how to amend and improve soil, and fertilizer selection and application.

When possible, these programs will be Facebook Live events on the Library’s Facebook page.
