FREE POETRY WORKSHOP FOR TEENS

FREE POETRY WORKSHOP FOR TEENS AT BARTLESVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY

BPL is offering a very special weekly series for teens during July. Morris McCorvey, renowned local poet, actor and community leader, will lead a free Poetry Workshop or middle- and high-school aged participants. No registration is required. Participants will meet once per week at the library, culminating in a final Open Mic Night at the Tower Center at Unity Square. Workshop sessions are July 8, July 13 and July 19 in BPL’s upstairs meeting room, from 10:00-11:30am. The Open Mic Night at the Tower Center at Unity Square will be July 27 at 7:00pm. This final event is open for the public to enjoy.

In keeping with the Summer Reading Program’s “Tails and Tales” theme, Mr. McCorvey says “I hope to guide the young writers towards their individual abilities to write about -and contribute to- the relationship of human beings to other living things.”
