Bartlesville Public Library Puts Your Safety First!

We want to take a few minutes to share our cleaning and quarantine practices performed for the safety of our patrons and community.

Bartlesville Public Library is following the REALM (Reopen Archives, Libraries and Museums) guidelines.

BPL receives returned materials via the outside drop boxes and a designated cart located outside of the circulation desk, then all returned materials are secured for a 72-hour quarantine.  After the 72-hour quarantine, all materials are inspected and then undergo individual UV light disinfection.

After the library materials are quarantined and disinfected, BPL staff returns the items to our circulating collection.  Staff does not check-in materials returned until after the quarantine and disinfection processes for their safety. When checked in, items are checked in as of the date they were returned by you, so that fines do not apply during the quarantine or disinfection period.

Additionally, we take extra care and attention inside the library. All BPL staff members wear masks at all times.  BPL staff disinfect and sanitize patron areas at regular intervals and immediately when someone leaves an area. BPL’s closing and opening procedures include deep cleaning of all areas.

BPL is pleased to offer our community a library that is relevant and follows best practices.
