The Youth Services department has recently improved the Teen area by adding iPads, a Smart Table, and video games to check out. But we’re not stopping there! Future plans include expanding the space, adding new furniture and décor, establishing a separate BPL Facebook page for teens, and boosting programming and resources for our community’s middle- and high-schoolers. KIDS, WE NEED YOUR HELP!
The library will soon create a Teen Advisory Board, or TAB, made up of TEENS who are interested in becoming more involved with our community and our library. This group will work with Youth Services staff to decide what they would like to do. They will give input on the Young Adult collection, help create and lead programming, volunteer at library events, contribute to library publications and social media, and organize community service projects. The board will have regular meetings and greatly influence how BPL serves teens in the future!
Applications will be available at the Youth Services desk August 1. For more information, call 918-338-4170.
